What to expect from a prenatal massage and bodywork session:
- After you've scheduled your' first appointment, an intake form will be emailed for you to fill out online. I ask that you fill that out a couple of days before your appointment to give me time to review the information and formulate a plan of action. We will also review this information at your first appointment.
- During your appointment, any body balancing will be done first while you fully clothed. This may take place standing, seated or semi-reclined.
- For the massage, I will step out of the room while you undress to your level of comfort and then get onto the massage table and under the blankets. At that point, I will re-enter the room.
- Your massage position will be side-lying. Many pillows and bolsters will support your body to take pressure off of your joints and ligaments.
- You are encouraged to communicate your comfort level and if you feel any pain or trigger points.
- You will be completely covered by a sheet and blanket at all times except for the specific area being worked on at the time.
- If you wish, your therapist can work with you to do some relaxation breathing and visualizations to fully relax and as preparation for labor and birth.

HypnoTherapy For Birth Trauma
Anxiety, hypervigilance, a feeling of being disconnected, overwhelming thoughts, or panic in the days, weeks, or months following the birth are just some of the symptoms you may experience after birth trauma. Difficulty bonding with your new baby can be another negative consequence of birth trauma and it can affect your next labor as well.
And if you're wrestling with any lingering emotional and psychological effects that stem from birth trauma, or you're preparing for another birth after birth trauma, hypnotherapy can help.
